YOU'RE IN THE LIBRARY!

Read a book, newspaper or magazine *
Do your homework *
Finish your research project *
Go online to see the front page of the NYTimes on the day you were born *
Play a game of chess *
Stare out the window at Rocky the Flying Squirrel *

Do it all, but please do it QUIETLY!

Look around - there are people here trying to work and concentrate!

Go back to the cafeteria or have a seat in the main lobby if you want to talk to your friends about all the great things you learned in class today.

The library is a place for thinking, reading and serious work.

Really.

One more thing - or two:

The photocopy machines are for LIBRARY MATERIALS ONLY!! If a teacher sends you in with something to photocopy, that's fine. But they are NOT for your personal use. No kidding.

7th and 8th graders - go the computer lab if you need a computer. It's a high school privilege to use the library's computers, unless you're here with a class.
