Welcome To The Carle Place Middle School Computer Lab Website!
We are coming to the end of another successful school year here at the Middle School Computer Lab. What a year this had been "Tech Wise"! There were many new sites and rewarding programs the students learned to use and access this year here at the lab. Below are some of the highlights for the months of March and April. Just as a reminder, the lab continues to be available to our Middle School students during their lunch periods and after school. It is also open during extra-help on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and after school on Mondays and Fridays. We continue to encourage our 7th and 8th grade students to come in to access our lab to complete projects and daily homework assignments.
For the Month of March
During the month of March, Ms. Bambino’s Social Studies classes accessed the lab to learn about Glogster. Glogster is a great program Ms. Bambino incorporated in her lesson plan, that allows students to create an online scrapbook diary. During the first few days here in our lab, Ms. Bambino explained the important features of the program to her students. Next her students began the task of gathering information about their assigned topic: The Great Depression. Their task was to create a diary from the point of view of a teenager living during The Great Depression. When the project was completed, she was very impressed with each diary entry her students created. We are excited to share a link below from one of her students work.

For the Month of April
We have started off the month of April with the Middle School students accessing the lab to link their Final Projects for 2013. Each student can come in to the lab between now and June to complete this task. The Middle School teachers have also been reserving our lab to start reviewing with their classes for final exams which will be administered at the end of the year. It is very rewarding for Ms. DeSimone and myself to see that the Carle Place Middle School teachers continue to incorporate the computer lab and computer technology in their daily instruction. Technology is the wave of the future and with the daily use of the lab, our Middle School students will continue to build on their success here at Carle Place.
Ms. DeSimone and I, Mrs. Costidis will continue to look forward to assisting our Middle School students with all their project needs.
