PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Today my staff and I began the long process of developing the schedule of classes for the 2013-14 school year. In fact, the process began many months ago. I met individually with the department supervisors in July and August to discuss their respective academic disciplines and what courses they thought would most benefit students. We also decided to offer college-level courses through the Syracuse University Project Advance (SUPA) program. This was followed with numerous meetings with the guidance staff developing the Program Planning Guide which lists the courses we would offer. Finally, students met with their counselors and teachers to determine the most academically challenging and well-rounded program for the upcoming school year. In the weeks ahead some difficult choices will need to be made as we determine which courses will actually run next year due to student interest, staff availability, and room requirements. Students may have to decide upon two courses that are offered at the same time. As the master schedule is developed, a keen eye will be focused on insuring that graduation required courses are offered, as well as a healthy array of electives. Please keep in contact with your child's counselor throughout this process. Just 192 days before school starts………..
